Not [     ] Enough

A new interdisciplinary theatrical work, currently in development. Composed in ASL and translated into English, this autobiographical epic poem recounts the captivating life story of Alberto Medero, who was born a CODA (child of Deaf adults) and grew up as the household interpreter. The performed work incorporates a dual track of both visual and aural storytelling, using multi-lingual poetry, dance, and music composed with a Deaf audience in mind.

“Existing in both the Deaf and hearing worlds all my life, I always knew there was power in silence. But as I began to develop my own identity as a CODA, I learned that in that silence was loud words.”

ASL interpreter, actor, and poet, Alberto Medero (he/him)
